recycled plastic floor mats are made from recycled Polypropylene which is a combination of recycled materials like medicine bottles, tinfoil's, shopping bags and carpet fibers etc. The Artwork is designed in Australia by royalty-paid Aborigihal Artists and manufactured in India and China
This design is a cross-cultural collaboration between two talented artists, Dianne Biritjalawuy and Salome Moes. Dianne is a Yolngu leader from the Golumala clan, in North-East Arnhem Land, NT. She is a co-founder of the Hope For Health project; a life-changing retreat program that uses the framework of the Yolngu traditional diet, to provide experiential nutrition education. Salome Moes is a Balanda (non-Indigenous) woman, who spent 8 years living on Elcho Island, NT. She is an artist and Hope For Health retreat facilitator. The design is of ‘The Mat’ itself and signifies togetherness – a place where we come together. We gather under shade and protection. To be nurtured, fed, taught, corrected, disciplined. This mat celebrates the coming together of Yolngu and Balanda, to grow and journey together, learning and challenging each other. Your purchase contributes to the empowering work of Hope For Health, to turn around the devastating epidemic of chronic disease in Indigenous communities" - Dr.Kama Trudgen, in collaboration with Hope for Health
Note: This mat comes with a recycled plastic carry bag for your convenience.
