Redcliffe Dolphins Jersey Design

DOLPHIN DREAMING by Michael J Connolly

This year’s NAIDOC Theme:  Our Languages Matter

In 2017 we celebrate and recognise the essential role that Indigenous Languages play in cultural identity linking Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people to their land and water spiritually through story, song and art.

There were over 250 languages with many dialects but sadly less than half still exist today.

In keeping with this year’s NAIDOC theme, my design for this jersey represents the community coming together like our ancestors did many years ago to celebrate the bounties of this rich area and the dolphin playing an integral role in the bringing of this bounty to the people.  This area brought people from many Clans with many languages sharing just like we do today
